1. Education:
We want you to be aware of the types of frames and lenses available to you and which will work best with your prescription. There are many specialty lenses made for computers, sports, swimming, sun wear, and safety. One pair of glasses may not take care of every situation. Discuss the use of the glasses with your optician before making that important decision.
2. Specialty lenses: Your doctor may prescribe a specialty lens that isn't readily available. BOL has a more diverse lab base to choose from making it more likely to find that unique lens.
3. Frame Approval: If you see a frame you like, but we don't have the right size or color in stock we will order it in for you to look at with no obligation to you.
4. In-House Lab: BOL has it's own surface lab, which means we can provide fast accurate service. Same day service may be available on some Rx's. Just ask your optician for details.
5. Repairs & Solders - BOL offers repairs and solders with same day service. Most repairs are completed onsite by our qualified and professional eyewear technicians. Stop in for a repair today and leave with your eyewear fixed in a timely manner on the same day.

Surface Lab
Bay Optical lab has the only full surface lab on the Southern Oregon Coast. This translates to faster, more accurate service for you. Most lenses are completed in-house and do not have to be shipped out to large regional labs for finishing. In some cases same day service is available. Ask your optician if this is possible with your prescription.
At times your doctor will prescribe lenses that are not available here. We will research all possibilities to see that you receive what you need. We are an independent lab and not restricted to certain vendors. For this reason we are able to access a wide variety of unique lenses and lens materials.
