Progressive lenses
Bay Optical lab is proud to use the Essilor and Varilux family of progressive lenses. Essilor continues to research and find new ways to improve and expand their line of progressive lenses for your best vision. Whether you're surfing the web, golfing, or just relaxing with a good book, there is a progressive lens that's right for you.
Lined Bifocal and Trifocal Lenses
Some still prefer the standard lined bifocal or trifocal lenses. These are available in Transitions, fashion tints, polarized lenses and several material types.
Polycarbonate
This lens material exhibits excellent shock resistance making it a good choice for safety or dress eyewear. Naturally very light and thin, it also blocks harmful UVA and UVB rays. It also comes with a built in scratch coat.
Anti-reflective coatings
AR coats are great for cutting down glare on computers, overhead lighting, and even for night driving. They come in a variety of styles, the newest of which cuts out the harmful blue light from LED lights and computer screens. They also come with a hydrophobic smudge and scratch resistant coating.
Tints
The Transition lenses darken when exposed from ultra violet light from the sun and then lighten up when indoors. They also come in several different types from the Signature to the Vantage and DriveWear. Ask your optician for details.
Polarized and fashion tints are also available in a variety of colors and are great for protection on snow, water, or just to get that unique look.
